Official Notice: Beware of a New Scam Targeting Authors and Future Authors of the Pan African Medical Journal
Dear Colleague,
We’ve received reports of scammers posing as our editorial office, contacting potential authors to submit manuscripts via email and demanding exorbitant article processing charges. Please be cautious—this is not a legitimate request.
Here are some red flags to watch for:
- Suspicious Contact: All email communication from PAMJ should come from a PAMJ staff member; all staff are listed here, with their email: https://www.panafrican-med-journal.com/view/content.php?item=estaff
- Manuscript submission: All manuscripts are submitted through the PAMJ manuscript Hut (https://one.manuscript-hut.com/pamj/) and NOT by email.
- Urgent Requests: High-pressure tactics to get you to act quickly (e.g., urgent acceptance of manuscript, immediate payment demands).
- Unusual Requests: Requests for personal or financial information, such as passwords, account numbers, or Social Security numbers.
- All financial communication from PAMJ comes from the email address: sales-service@panafrican-med-
journal.com
How to Protect Yourself:
- PAMJ will never request the use of Bitcoins or any other cryptocurrencies.
- For all questions or inquiries, email: editor@panafrican-med-journal.com
- Always verify the legitimacy of any communication by contacting the Journal directly
- Do NOT share any personal or financial information with anyone you don´t trust.
- Report any suspicious messages to editor@panafrican-med-journal.com
